Sara Rider is an undergraduate studying Conservation Biology and Education au UW-Madison. She has always had a passion for the environment, spending her summers in Montana with her grandparents. She wants to combine environmental conservation with educational outreach to raise awareness and support for global challenges. She explored the impact of agricultural expansion on threatened and endangered bird species in the Prairie Pothole Region, which sparked an interest in grassland wildlife. At GLUE she investigated irrigation types across the United States, with a focus on California’s Central Valley. Outside of the lab, she loves to read, hike, and drink coffee.
