Olivia Prendergast

ALUMNI

Olivia was an undergraduate in the Human Geography department here at UW-Madison. She studied abroad in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and, given that experience, was very excited to be working with Professor Holly Gibbs on her work tracking cattle ranching farms in the Brazilian Amazon. In addition, Olivia conducted research with a group for her colloquium course in the Geography department on the food cart landscape in Madison. She also worked at Banzo, one of the food carts in Madison, which allows her an inside view of the socio-spatial dialectic that surrounds mobile food geographies. Beyond that, Olivia is passionate about languages, and hopes to not only continue mastering Portuguese in the coming years, but also to pick up another couple of languages along the way. She also wants to use this knowledge to one day develop sustainable city projects and transportation in countries like Brazil.
