Heron is a Brazilian Environmental Engineer and was a researcher at the NGO Imazon for about 14 years. He was the technical coordinator of the Imazon’s Deforestation Alert System (SAD), a monthly and independent monitoring system in the Legal Amazon. He also participated in the design, development and implementation of the Municipal Environmental Management System (SIGAM) as well as the Illegal Deforestation List (LDI) for the State of Para.
